In order to perform at Starry Nite, a band has to successfully audition with the organising committee and staff from the Office of Student Life. There are a few bands that may bypass this process because of their popularity and track record. There is an unconfirmed rumour that any band who exceeds their time on stage gets banned from the next Starry Nite. Nevertheless, the organising committee never fails to present a line-up that impresses and entertains each time.
